Neighborhood News is a micro-local community newspaper with 5 community-specific editions distributed by Pioneer Publishing to 255,000 homes throughout the metropolitan area every month. In addition to our monthly print publications we have launched MetroNeighborhoodNews.com where you can check in daily for updates in your neighborhood and even add a few yourself.

John Heaston led the founding team behind Neighborhood News and its online equivalent MetroNeighborhoodNews.com in September 2009, with its inaugural editions landing in 255,000 mailboxes in January 2010. In addition to Neighborhood News, John is also editor and publisher of The Reader, Omaha's oldest Arts and Entertainment Newsweekly, and El Perico, Omaha's only bilingual newspaper and publisher of Today's Omaha Woman, a quarterly magazine of the Women's Fund of Omaha, dedicated to educating people about issues impacting women and girls in our community. He is a board member of the Omaha Press Club, Mildred D. Brown Memorial Study Center and the Omaha Entertainment & Arts Awards and has been a settled Omahan since graduating high school here.

Summer Miller WidhalmSummer Miller is the founding and currently consulting Executive Editor of Neighborhood News and MetroNeighborhoodNews.com. She is an award-winning journalist whose work has appeared in Newsday, Every Day with Rachel Ray, Eating Well, AAA Living, to name a few. In her former life, she spent time as a public relations manager where she and her team won industry awards for social media campaigns, a humanitarian aid worker in South Africa and editor in chief of The Reader. She is a life-long resident of the metro area. She is on extended maternal leave in a city formerly known as Elkhorn with her husband, Steve, their son Jackson and brand new baby daughter Juniper, with their homicidal cat named Cat, while still reporting on the local food movement.

Greg EddsGreg Edds is the community editor for the Uptown Edition of Metro Neighborhood News. After receiving his bachelor's degree in Public Relations and Advertising from UNO, he spent eight years as a professional touring musician, A&R manger, and booking agent for his indie-rock group, Little Brazil. He has past experience in freelance writing and photography with online based websites such as BlockShopper, iwannagothere, and GoTime. Greg currently lives with his girlfriend Brittani and their furry feline, Mimi. When not attempting to achieve success in the music industry, you can find him on a basketball court or baseball diamond desperately trying to hang onto his youth.
